WHO WE ARE:

We are a group of veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, American citizens, members of the Catholic faith, and members of Catholic War Veterans of the U.S.A., Our Lady of Peace Post 1947 in Las Vegas, Nevada, who have established a 501(c)(3) public charity foundation, "the Catholic Veterans of Nevada Charity Foundation" doing business as "Veterans Care Assistance Program" or VCAP, to expand and improve our welfare program for the benefit of veterans, their families, and the citizens of Nevada.

What We Do:

VCAP:
  1. Maintains and operates a food bank to aid veterans, their families, and others in the community.
  2. Provides financial assistance for rent and/or utilities to prevent homelessness and medical emergencies.
  3. Provides financial aid in emergency situations, when funding is available. In the event the Foundation lacks funding for financial assistance, the Foundation will refer the client to other community resources.
  4. Participates in a community sponsored stand-down for homeless veterans each October and assists homeless individuals daily.
  5. Provides assistance and guidance in obtaining housing with other community partners.
  6. Collaborates with Job Connect of Southern Nevada and other employment agencies to help clients gain employment.
  7. Provides assistance for clients to obtain Identification, Health and other necessary documents to begin employment.
  8. Has a Service Officer available to assist veterans, their families, widows, and orphans in applying for VA medical care, benefits, and compensation.

How You Can Help:

All Foundation members are volunteering their time and no one receives any form of compensation other than reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. Volunteer positions are open to all individuals regardless of race, creed, national origin, or gender. There are no dues, but we encourage you to volunteer your time and talent in one of our programs.

Foundation meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday of the Month at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Wisdom Byzantine Catholic Church Hall, 2120 Lindell Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.

The Catholic Veterans of Nevada Charity Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. In accordance with the wording suggested by Nevada Assembly Bill 60, Donations to the foundation may be tax deductable under section 170.c of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (26 U.S.C. 170.c). It is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 2055, § 2106, § 2522).
